QIK is Announced for the New 3G iPhone
This basically seals the deal. Just like the original iPhone, the new 3G iPhone is claimed to not be able to record video, which is basically stupid. I was just wondering last night if someone would write an app to allow video recording, and someone outdid themselves big time. QIK has just announced that they will also support the iPhone which is huge. It will not only record video, it will stream it live on the internet and also record it for later viewing.
QIK has become very popular in the past year in the wake of Yahoo Live!, Justin TV, Blog TV and other live video streaming sites. Compared to other streaming video sites where you have to use a computer and web cam or camcorder, QIK allows you to use a mobile phone.
It has kind of been an exclusive website as originally it was only designed for high end Nokia phones with fast connections. Live streaming video for the cell phone has just been brought to the masses.
This video shows a demo of QIK on a supposedly jailbroken iPhone, but we expect to see it on a 3G iPhone very soon.
