iPhone AT&T Access Jumps to $30 a Month Times 24 = $240
So the new iPhone only costs $199. Well, plus the new increased AT&T $30 unlimited download plan, versus their previous $20 plan, and you have an extra $240 for your two year contract. $240 + $199 = 439 American dollars.
If you want fast Internet on your iPhone it will cost you an extra $120 a year, or $240 for the life of the two-year contract. The $199 is not as cheap as it seems.
Was your new 3G iPhone really subsidized?
