Comcast Email and Website Hacked
After spying on customers and threatening to limit bandwidth, these jokers at Comcast probably deserved to be hacked. Now, I’m not saying I like hackers or condone hacking, but Comcast deserves it more than anyone.

As of 2:36 AM ET on Thursday May 29th, www.comcast.net is still down. All you see is a Network Solutions “web page under construction and coming soon” holding page. But several hours ago there was a nice little message from the writers of the Warlok virus:
KRYOGENIKS EBK and DEFIANT RoXed COMCAST
sHouTz To VIRUS Warlock elul21 coll1er seven and Slacker.
There is also talk about malicious code embedded in the above hacked page (which McAfee wanted to enable!)

It looks they really hacked Network Solutions and changed the DNS settings, but whatever. The all important email is down for many Comcast users and people are pissed. Apparently, the fake mail.comcast.net IP address is listening to ports 25 and 110. The hackers could suck down a lot of Comcast user names and passwords.
Just think of all the bounced incoming email no one will receive! Hopefully this will help Comcast to wake up and realize they are in business for their customers, and not the Bandwidth or Internet Police.

I think you need to realize that Comcast is in business to make a profit
I’m all for capitalism and profits, but I am not for a monopolistic company spying on what their customers are downloading…
I called up Comcast late last night when I got the message from the virus writers. I spoke with somebody in Customer Service, who passed my call on to some young guy in Tech support. I told him what I got. He called up the page and got exactly what he expected to see, so he told me that *I* had a virus. I told him it specifically said “Comcast.” but he wasn’t listening.
He advised me to format my hard drive and start over. I just kind of sighed and hung up. I wonder, if they’d paid attention to me, if they could have mitigated some of the damage?
