February is Knight Rider Month for Geeks
If you were watching TV in the 80’s, with your dad yelling at you for turning the channel dial too fast, then you more than likely have an affection for KITT. Knight Rider Two Thousand that is, with the still well-known David Hasselhoff as Michael Knight behind the wheel.
Welcome to the future and the new Knight Rider Three Thousand driven by the son of Michael Knight, who is ironically also a soap opera star as was The Hoff-mesiter. Although not a Trans-Am, the new Ford Mustang Shelby version of KITT is pretty cool. It can hack any network, communicate and control things through power lines and Internet, and it can also morph into different cars! That’s right, it has a “KITT Attack” version which sounds kind of like when the original KITT went into Turbo Boost mode, and also a self-driven “KITT Remote” version.
If the two-hour NBC television movie goes well, there could be a possible new series. At least they are off to a good start; instead of dissing the former stars of the show as other remakes have done, David Hasselhoff plays a guest appearance roll which supposedly somewhat ties the plot together.
Here is a two minute Knight Rider trailer from NBC, which airs on February 17th.
The best thing about the new KITT - he doesn’t sound as gay.
